Security Officer - Badging/Reception: CP Chem Cedar Bayou

Under limited supervision, the Security Officer – Badging and Reception provides security and protection of work site, personnel and assets at the assigned job site. Initiates Company and Contractor badges and provides required access levels to the security credentials based on established operational procedures. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the company may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent

Prior military, law enforcement, or private security experience. Previous experience in an administrative role strongly desired.

Valid driver's license.

State Unarmed Security Officer License (or ability to obtain)

Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong communication and customer service skills

As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical evaluation.

Strong computer, phone, and typing skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Guard property against damage, fire, theft, and illegal or unauthorized entry.

Excellent knowledge of Company badging procedures and access control systems.

Badging duties include but are not limited to:

  • reviewing access badge request forms
  • performing required data entry
  • creating access cards
  • performing all card holder management including suspending and modifying card access
  • manage permanent and temporary parking permits
  • toll tag issuance
  • Accept packages and make appropriate notifications.
  • Complete all job required forms/documentation accurately and timely.
  • Display courteous, respectful and professional interactions with the public and customers.
  • Maintain high standards for work areas and appearance.
  • Must comply with established dress code/uniform requirements.
  • May assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professionalism.
  • Knowledgeable of all duties associated with the basic patrol/post/reception officer.
  • May be requested to temporarily cover other posts as needed.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend company/job required training programs (classroom and virtual).
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
