I. POSITION SUMMARY
The Office Assistant – Volunteer provides administrative, clerical, and operational support to the Children's Therapy Center by assisting with front office operations, maintaining organized and sanitized clinic environments, preparing treatment materials, and supporting clinical staff while creating a welcoming environment for individuals served and families.
II. ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION
Spectrum of Solutions exists to provide a spectrum of resources and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families by inspiring, empowering, advocating, and educating our community.
III. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welcome and check in individuals served and notify therapists upon arrival.
  • Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized reception and waiting area.
  • Prepare therapy materials by copying, laminating, cutting, sorting, and organizing.
  • Sanitize toys, treatment materials, and shared equipment.
  • Organize therapy supplies and toy closets.
  • Assist with childcare during parent consultations under staff supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality and complete required volunteer training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school student, college student, retiree, or community volunteer preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, customer service, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
V. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, integrity, and a commitment to the mission and values of Spectrum of Solutions.
VI. WORK ENVIRONMENT
In-office outpatient pediatric therapy clinic serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related conditions. Residential work is not applicable to this volunteer position.
VII. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, participate in floor-based activities, operate office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
VIII. VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE
Tuesdays amp; Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
IX. CONFIDENTIALITY
Volunteers must comply with HIPAA and all Spectrum of Solutions confidentiality and privacy policies.
X. SAFETY AND INFECTION PREVENTION
Follow infection prevention procedures, report hazards immediately, and wear volunteer identification while on duty.
