Job description

Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon (SSMO) Ministries Corporation is looking for a warm and welcoming, customer-focused Receptionist to serve the SSMO Ministries, SSMO Foundation, and Convent visitors to the Motherhouse, and Business Office of the Valley Catholic School campus. Areas of focus will be greeting visitors to the Motherhouse and Business Office, answering the phone and directing calls, receiving and sorting mail and packages, assisting the Sisters with their visitors, and providing administrative support to HR, Foundation, Finance, Communication, and others as needed.

Schedule: Saturday Mornings and On-Call Responsibilities: Greet and welcome visitors to the office. Provide referrals and basic information to visitors and callers. Direct visitors to the appropriate person/office for assistance.

Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls. Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries. Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.

Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook). Update calendars and schedule appointments as needed. Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, ordering supplies, etc.

Open and close the Reception area and switchboard daily. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. One to three years of experience in a Receptionist role is helpful.

Professional attitude and professional appearance. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization, multitasking and time management skills.

Ability to be compassionate and calm under pressure, resourceful and proactive when issues arise. Hands-on experience with office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
