Apply Job no: 9CRXG The Opportunity Mipac has expanded into the United States and opened a new office in Tucson, Arizona. This is a unique opportunity for a Graduate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our business at an exciting stage of growth and build your career within a global engineering company. Working alongside experienced engineers across North America and Australia, you will gain exposure to world-class mining, minerals processing, and heavy industrial projects from day one.

As a member of our engineering team, you will develop practical experience across the full project lifecycle, including engineering design, control systems, testing, commissioning, and site-based project delivery. You will be supported by experienced mentors and have the opportunity to learn from technical specialists across a range of automation platforms and industrial technologies. You'll gain exposure to large-scale projects delivered internationally and, depending on project requirements, may have opportunities to travel to project sites across North America and internationally.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate who enjoys solving complex problems, working collaboratively, learning new technologies, and seeing engineering solutions come to life in real operating environments. Your responsibilities As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will: Assist with the design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for mining, mineral processing, and industrial projects. Support the development and review of engineering documentation, including: P&IDs Instrumentation datasheets I/O lists and signal schedules Loop diagrams Functional descriptions and control narratives Alarm registers and cause & effect matrices FAT, SAT, and commissioning documentation Support PLC, DCS, and SCADA development, configuration, and testing activities.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project delivery and commissioning. Work closely with process, electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.

Learn and apply company, client, and industry engineering standards. Contribute to engineering design reviews, project meetings, and technical workshops. Build practical engineering knowledge through exposure to real projects and operating facilities.

What we are looking for Essential Bachelor's degree (or final year of study) in: Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Instrumentation & Control Engineering Or a related engineering discipline Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Passion for automation, control systems, engineering technology, and industrial processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Desirable Exposure to PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial automation, robotics, or programming through university projects, internships, or personal interests. Knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, or industrial communications. Previous internship, co-op, vacation work, or practical engineering experience.

Interest in mining, minerals processing, energy, manufacturing, or heavy industry. No prior industry experience is required. We are looking for curious, motivated graduates who are eager to learn and develop their careers.
