Schedule: Full-Time | 9/80 Schedule | Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Every Other Friday Off)

Position Overview
Tekberry is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Hardware Project Engineer to support a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and integration of precision control components for advanced aerospace and space applications.
This role supports the development, verification, testing, and production of custom space electronics while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has a strong electrical engineering background, experience developing complex electronic systems, and the ability to manage product requirements, support verification testing, troubleshoot hardware issues, and drive technical solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment. Responsibilities
Hardware Development & Project Engineering
  • Support the Lead Responsible Engineer in the development, verification, and production of custom space electronics.
  • Assist senior engineers on complex engineering projects while managing assigned technical responsibilities.
  • Participate throughout the complete product development lifecycle from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful product execution.
  • Take ownership of assigned engineering tasks while proactively identifying and resolving technical issues.

Requirements Management & Systems Engineering
  • Manage, review, and maintain product requirements received from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Derive design, verification, and test requirements to ensure product functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to perform trade studies and technical analyses supporting conceptual solutions.
  • Allocate requirements across functional engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate verification activities to ensure all requirements are successfully validated and documented.
  • Maintain complete and accurate engineering documentation throughout project execution.

Engineering Analysis & Technical Documentation
  • Author and review engineering reports, technical analyses, and project documentation.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Prepare technical documentation supporting product development, testing, and manufacturing activities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare engineering reports, presentations, schedules, and project documentation.

Hardware Testing & Verification
  • Develop and author engineering test procedures.
  • Support design verification testing and production hardware testing activities.
  • Read and interpret printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) schematics.
  • Utilize laboratory measurement equipment to troubleshoot electronic hardware failures.
  • Diagnose failures down to the discrete component and integrated circuit level.
  • Support production and qualification testing activities.

Manufacturing Support & Problem Resolution
  • Support manufacturing by resolving hardware non-conformance issues.
  • Participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings.
  • Lead or support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues impacting production.
  • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact during production testing campaigns as required.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing electronic systems.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • PCBA design
    • Embedded processor software development
    • Requirements management
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant engineering experience may be considered where applicable.

Required Skills
  • Experience managing, deriving, verifying, and documenting requirements for complex electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of electronic hardware development and system verification.
  • Ability to read and interpret PCBA schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic hardware using laboratory measurement equipment.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and digital interface technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Project
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience authoring engineering verification documentation.
  • Experience supporting Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Experience supporting production and qualification testing.
  • Experience designing or specifying space-based or radiation-hardened electronic components.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or space electronics programs.
  • Experience working in highly regulated engineering and manufacturing environments.
