Shift: Afternoons M-F
Summary:
As a Production Team member, you will be part of a team-oriented environment, where safety is our priority. Each Team Member will have engagement in safety and quality to help ensure the safety of our employees and deliver the best possible quality to our customers.
Requirements
  • The employee is responsible to maintain the equipment in good operating condition. This includes the completion of the Operators Basic Care at the start of each shift.
  • Operation of mill machines.
  • Production and time entry in MESA computer system.
  • Understand and adhere to Job Instructions Breakdown (JIB) for operation within their scope of duty.
  • Reads production Schedule / Dispatch to determine processing sequence.
  • Machine set up.
  • Verifies Process Instructions using Process master.
  • Use measuring tools to capture process data.
  • Makes adjustments to keep product in specifications.
  • Actively work as a team member, giving feedback on operating and quality practices to their team and supervision.
  • Operate Crane/Forklift to move materials in preparation for transfer to the next process.
  • Perform Safety Observations; provide feedback on production or safety issues on machines.
  • Tare weigh all boards or boxes prior to packing.
  • Ensure gauge, width, length, and heat number on the coil match the Mill Ticket.
  • Inspect finished products - observe bar for defects (i.e. surfaces, edges (top and bottom).
  • Interpret and adhere to production Schedule / Dispatch to determine processing sequence.
  • Packing and shipping of final goods.
  • Load and unload trucks.

Qualifications:
  • Be willing to work off-shifts and weekends as business requires
  • Good physical condition
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Good organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Experience in an industrial or production type setting
  • Demonstrated ability to Relationship building experience
  • Experience in the use of computers to assist work

Minimum: High School Diploma/ GED and 5 years of shipping and receiving experience required.
Desirable: Post High School or vocational education.
Preferred: Bachelor Arts or Science.
Special Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
  • May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
  • Must be willing to enhance and learn new skill sets.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives.
