About the Role / General Summary
The primary function of the Distribution Center is to receive in all products from vendors and ensure accuracy and quality of merchandise. From there, the product is binned and shipped to our stores throughout the world. The Receiving Manager, is specifically responsible for Managing the DC in the day to day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement operational policies to ensure that all company assets are moved in a cost effective, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Monitor daily DC Receiving workload & procedures, delegating duties to Receiving Supervisor and group leaders as necessary.
  • Monitor Inventory accuracy levels alongside key partnerships within the business
  • Work with logistics department to maintain inbound schedule to meet projection
  • Monitor and record all vendor violations, work with merchandising on product rework.
  • Ensure timely putaways of new receiving and pull samples as needed by office.
  • Perform Daily / Quarterly cycle counts. Problem-solve and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Suggest, develop, and implement processes for Receiving and Inventory control.
  • Perform all return to vendor DC duties in collaboration with quality control.
  • Assist in the formulation of Distribution Center operational policies to ensure quick turnaround of merchandise and supplies.
  • Provide suggestions and ideas on improving workflow and operations.
  • Administer loss prevention techniques to decrease inventory shrinkage.
  • Assist in updating procedure manual as programs and functions change.
  • Ensure all OSHA policies for a safe working environment are met and maintained.
  • Determine needs for temporary labor force and communicate to Supervisor.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Group Leader(s) and DC Associate(s)

Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Hazardous Material knowledge.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles, 5S methodology, Continuous Improvement
  • 2 years' experience in freight handling; LTL environment preferred
  • Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Business, Excel
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Document and report KPI's, capacity planning, and operation efficiency.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred.
  • Must have strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety practices
  • Availability to work weekends on a regular basis when required
