Warehouse Loader / Shipping Associate
Starting Pay: $18.50/hour

Safe-Way Garage Doors and First United in Tempe is looking for dependable, hardworking team members to join our Shipping & Loading Team.

What You'll Do
This is an active, hands-on warehouse position where you'll help move, organize, verify, and load garage doors and related products for shipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Pulling and pushing product carts from the warehouse floor to the loading dock
  • Moving garage doors, hardware, openers, and related products by hand or with equipment
  • Loading doors, sections, hardware, and other products into trailers and box trucks according to shipment load lists
  • Lifting, stacking, packing, and organizing garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and assemblies
  • Verifying products using load lists and/or scanners to make sure the correct products are shipped
  • Staging products in the proper location for loading
  • Following the route loading order established by the supervisor
  • Organizing loads based on product size, quantity, and delivery route
  • Securing loads using foam, load bars, poles, and other materials to help prevent damage during transportation
  • Helping ensure trailers and box trucks are loaded safely and efficiently
  • Using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, racks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Following proper shipping, loading, and safety procedures
  • Reporting product, quality, shipping, or safety concerns to the supervisor
  • Using basic computer systems and ERP software as needed to support shipping activities
  • Assisting with closing shipments and preparing shipping documentation
  • Communicating with Shipping, Customer Service, Procurement, office staff, supervisors, and managers
  • Keeping the dock and warehouse clean, organized, and safe
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position. Employees must be able to stand, walk, sit, squat, kneel, reach, push, pull, and use their hands throughout the workday.
The position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.

Work Environment
