Job description

As a Senior Accountant - Rebates under general supervision, you will perform general accounting work with an emphasis on rebate and revenue accounting areas. Analyze accounts and reports as well as, statistical reports, or external audit support. Reconcile general ledger accounts. Assist in the development and implementation of department policies, procedures, and programs in assigned areas. Advise management and employees in areas of expertise.

This is a full-time, hybrid (3 days in office) position located at Northbrook, IL.

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline plus generally four years of directly related accounting experience. 
  • CPA required (or actively pursuing)
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting theories and practices.


     Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $74,400- $90,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday and personal days (totaling 12 days), and sick time off (72 hours).

  • Performs general accounting work requiring originality and ingenuity with some latitude for un-reviewed decisions, in assigned areas - specifically the rebates process area.
  • Recording and reconciling monthly rebate accruals.
  • Reviewing customer contracts to validate rebates are calculated in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Applies fundamental accounting concepts and practices in assigned areas. 
  • Communicates with management and employees regarding issues in accounting and recommends solutions. Explains and interprets department policies, procedures, and practices. Assists customers and other constituents. 
  • Assists in the development of new or revised policies, procedures, and programs by performing research and analysis. Develops recommendations concerning procedures and program features. 
  • Communicates with outside agencies or organizations, to obtain or exchange information. 
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of advanced concepts in assigned areas, specifically Revenue Recognition under ASC 606 and Accounting for Rebates.
  • Develops an awareness of how decisions made in assigned areas impact work in other functional areas. 
  • Stays abreast of current trends, and practices in area of specialization. 
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices
  • Performs other duties as directed.
