What you will do:

The Project Manager - Rebar Detailing is responsible for managing reinforcing steel detailing projects from blueprint review through fabrication, delivery, and project completion. This role combines project management with technical detailing responsibilities by preparing accurate reinforcing steel placement drawings, material takeoffs, and fabrication documentation while coordinating closely with customers, fabrication, production, scheduling, and field teams. The Project Manager - Rebar Detailing ensures projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements.

Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee assigned detailing projects from award through project completion
  • Develop project schedules and monitor milestones to ensure timely execution
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule
  • Manage project documentation, including revisions, change orders, RFIs, and project updates
  • Coordinate project activities with fabrication, production, scheduling, and delivery teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer specifications

Rebar Detailing & Technical Documentation

  • Prepare reinforcing steel placement drawings in accordance with industry and company standards
  • Produce accurate bar lists, material takeoffs, fabrication drawings, and production documentation
  • Interpret engineering plans, specifications, structural drawings, and contract documents
  • Verify dimensions, reinforcing requirements, material quantities, and project details prior to fabrication
  • Maintain accurate revision history and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with resolving detailing, fabrication, and field-related issues by providing technical support

Customer & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate material deliveries, fabrication schedules, and placement requirements with customers and internal teams
  • Communicate project status, revisions, schedule changes, and key milestones clearly and consistently
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service
  • Participate in customer meetings and project coordination meetings as required

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Estimating, Production, Fabrication, Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping, and Operations teams to support project success
  • Coordinate project handoffs between estimating, detailing, fabrication, and delivery
  • Ensure drawings and fabrication documents support efficient manufacturing and customer expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, detailing accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout project execution

Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure detailing work complies with industry standards, customer specifications, and company quality requirements
  • Review completed drawings and documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation
  • Promote company safety policies and support safe operational practices
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

  • Strong knowledge of reinforcing steel detailing practices and construction industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, and contract documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or comparable detailing software preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, document management software, and project management platforms
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus
  • Primarily office-based work environment with regular collaboration across estimating, fabrication, production, scheduling, and operations teams
  • Occasional visits to fabrication facilities, warehouses, and customer jobsites
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Frequent use of CAD software, project management systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to occasionally travel to meetings or active project sites
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required to support project schedules and customer commitments
