Job description

Real Estate Paralegal
LHH is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support a dynamic legal team in the Detroit (Southfield) area. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, providing critical support throughout the entire transaction lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial real estate, exceptional organizational skills, and a client-service-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and review title commitments, surveys, and due diligence materials
  • Manage due diligence processes and transaction checklists
  • Prepare and organize closing documents, closing binders, and closing statements
  • Draft deeds, contract amendments, ancillary transaction documents, and acquisition/sale documentation
  • Abstract contracts and track critical dates, obligations, and deadlines
  • Review and analyze title commitments, surveys, zoning regulations, and related property documents
  • Prepare and respond to title objection letters
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, clients, and attorneys to resolve title and survey issues
  • Manage title insurance commitments, policies, and proforma requirements
  • Assist with all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and closings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate paralegal experience, preferably within a law firm environment
  • Significant experience supporting commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and due diligence matters
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign
  • Experience with iManage or FileSite is preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a professional demeanor and strong client service orientation
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support transaction closings
