This full time temporary position can be headquartered out of - Madison, Superior, Eau Claire, Waukesha, Wisconsin Rapids, Rhinelander, Green Bay, La Crosse.
This LTE position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from one of the offices listed above at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin.

Position Summary
This is an advanced level professional position in the Bureau of Technical Services - Relocation, Appraisal and Property Management Section, which carries out tasks of high complexity in the discipline of appraisal of real estate. The position is responsible for providing appraisals on parcels of surplus land owned by WisDOT but intended for sale. Assignments will range from simple to extremely complex, requiring specialized knowledge in property valuation.
The scope and complexity of work performed carries with it a high level of responsibility and accountability, requiring sound judgment and extreme skill in decision-making. Work assignments are performed with the highest level of independence and minimal supervision.
A valid appraiser license or certification in the State of Wisconsin is required.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 07-03 with an hourly rate of $28.24.
Job Details
This state agency does not sponsor work visas. This state agency is not enrolled in USCIS E-Verify and is not eligible to employ international F-1 students seeking STEM-OPT extension. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.
Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.
This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).
Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.
Qualifications
A minimally qualified candidate must have experience in all of the following:
  • A valid appraiser license or certification in the State of Wisconsin is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of USPAP (uniform standards of professional appraisal practice) principles.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for dealing with internal and external customers (e.g., handling policy conformance, advising of solutions to appraisal problems, etc.)
  • Time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Computer skills to effectively keep records in an automated real estate data system and produce documents.
