The selected candidate will be an integral member of a high-performing investments team, contributing directly to the underwriting, structuring, and closing of ground lease investments across a diversified pipeline of institutional-quality opportunities.The Investment Associate operates within small, focused deal teams of two to three professionals, working in close collaboration with senior leadership throughout every stage of the investment process. In addition, the Investment Associate will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior team members. The role is designed for a professional seeking to deepen transaction execution, underwriting, and investment judgment within a collaborative and high-accountability environment. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities over time as they develop on the platform.This position is based in Safehold’s New York headquarters and is expected to work primarily in-office to support close collaboration, mentorship, and live transaction execution.RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate the risk/return profile of ground lease investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies, including multifamily, student housing, senior housing, hospitality, office, industrial, and mixed-use propertiesDevelop and maintain rigorous financial models to support investment underwriting and decision-makingPrepare and present deal summaries at weekly investment committee meetingsAuthor internal investment committee memorandums with clarity, precision, and well-supported analysisUtilize AI-enabled and other technology tools, alongside traditional analytical methods, to support research, organize information, and improve the efficiency of underwriting, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and judgment.Partner with managers and senior leadership across all phases of origination and executionParticipate in industry eventsTravel to assets to complete on-site diligence and analyze market conditionsRequirements:3+ years of experience in commercial real estate investment, finance, or a related disciplineDemonstrated analytical capability and financial modeling proficiency, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsAbility to articulate, defend, and challenge investment recommendations with confidence and intellectual rigorExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex analysis clearly to senior audiencesFamiliarity with industry data sources (CoStar, RCA, Axiometrics, etc.)High degree of personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and professional accountabilityBachelor's degree requiredCOMPENSATIONTotal Compensation: $220,000 – $285,000The anticipated compensation range for this position, inclusive of base salary and annual discretionary bonus is posted.
