Real Estate Investment Analyst

The Real Estate Investment Analyst will support the growth and management of Fidelity's direct real estate business. The Analyst will work cross functionally, focusing on acquisition underwriting, due diligence, asset management, fund and portfolio management, market research, and investor reporting. This role will have exposure to multiple real estate markets, transaction structures and product types including industrial, multifamily, office, retail, and data center. The Analyst will join a small and rapidly growing team in a highly visible role within Fidelity's alternative product division.

The Role

  • Underwriting acquisition opportunities by building complex Argus and Excel-based financial models, maintaining comprehensive deal pipelines, interfacing with 3rd parties to develop pro-forma assumptions, and authoring investment committee memoranda and other supporting materials

  • Compiling market research including rent, lease and sales comparables, 3rd party econometric and macroeconomic forecasts, and other research to support acquisition, asset management, and investor reporting initiatives

  • Supporting senior investment professionals in due diligence (physical, environmental, financial and legal) for potential acquisition candidates

  • Preparing investor reports and financial analyses (fund and asset-level projections, capital call statements, fee calculations) across multiple funds

  • Supporting asset management by assisting in the transition of properties from acquisition to asset management, performing internal property valuations, lease analyses, budget reviews, capital planning, income variance analyses, hold/sell analyses, and overseeing 3rd party appraisals

  • Creating financial analyses to facilitate long-term financial planning, new fund formation and capital raising

  • Performing statistical analyses to facilitate portfolio reporting and strategic initiatives

  • Facilitating ad-hoc internal or investor requests

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required; preference for candidates with a major in real estate, finance,economics, business, mathematics or a related discipline

  • 2 or more years of relevant professional experience (commercial real estate investment sales, investment banking, acquisitions, asset management, portfolio/fund management, development, finance, or appraisal); experience across multiple real estate product types is preferred but not required

  • Detailed knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel

  • Argus Enterprise experience is preferred, but not required

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Interest in real estate investment management

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and analytical skills

  • Strong written/verbal presentation skills

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment

The Team

Fidelity Investments has established a small team to develop, launch and manage direct real estate products for Fidelity's customers. This new business line sits within Fidelity's high growth alternative investment division.

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
