PURPOSE

The Real Estate Paralegal in the Legal Department plays a crucial role in supporting the development and legal team with a wide range of tasks related to real estate, state and local permitting and licensing, corporate governance, and other real estate development-related matters.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial real estate leases, covenants, conditions and restrictions (CCRs), corporate formations, and other legal processes related to development projects.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Prepare and file foreign authority state registrations

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Prepare and file DBA/trade name registrations

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Track and file state annual reports and trademark registrations

Real Estate

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Through use of AI, draft lease and lease amendment summaries capturing key lease terms

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Draft legal documents such as SNDAs, Estoppels, Acceptance and Commencement Date Certificates

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Order, review, and summarize title reports and related due diligence materials

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Summarize CCRs

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Assist with researching local, county, and state regulations for required operational permits and licenses such as pool, spa, boilers, elevators, childcare and other requirements

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Create and maintain template documents and work with AI team to automate

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Electronically organize real estate, regulatory, corporate, and other documents for collaboration among internal teams

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Primary responsibility for populating and managing databases to track critical dates and action items relating to development, pre-opening, and post-opening activities

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Manage legal notices to central email and forward to team members as appropriate

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Assist with special projects as neededย 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in almost any field or associate degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in real estate or development
  • Working knowledge of leases and title policies
  • Understand AIโ€™s application to summarize complex documents and other AI uses
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of real estate leases
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Asana, Claude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work under deadlines
  • Attention to detail, organization, problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
