A Brief Overview
The Real Estate Asset Management and Investment Associate is part of a team that works closely on all aspects of Hunt Real Estate platforms. This position gains exposure and experience in various real estate and other real asset investments, operating platforms, portfolio recapitalizations, and other assignments. Responsibilities include supporting the team in all aspects of project execution, including underwriting, financial analysis and modeling, project structuring, due diligence, financing, term negotiation, asset management, and dispositions.
What you will do
  • Conducts financial modeling to assist in underwriting and due diligence phases of potential new developments, acquisitions, and joint venture opportunities.
  • Assists in the preparation of memoranda describing potential new investments and participates in Investment Committee presentations.
  • Prepares financial analyses of investment decisions.
  • Prepares and effectively analyzes market data / research for all submarkets within the HDG portfolio.
  • Supports the creation of annual business plans for owned and managed investments.
  • Supports the execution of business plans and monitors operating performance of owned investments.
  • Prepares capital raising presentations and other investor relations requests.
  • Supports the development team by sourcing, structuring, and synthesizing market intelligence using AI research tools and data platforms.
  • Conducts AI-assisted market and submarket research, including prompting and evaluating.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree ideally with course work in Finance, Real Estate, Business Management or a related discipline from a top-tier school Required
  • Minimum of two years related experience required. Required
  • 4-6 years work experience in real estate, real estate development, infrastructure, investment banking, lending, investment management, or commercial real estate brokerage, or another related field. Preferred
  • Two to three years of experience using Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis. Required
  • Two to three years of experience in Multifamily transactions and operations is preferred. Preferred
  • Understanding of real estate financial analysis, modeling, and valuation with an emphasis on Multifamily.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgment, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform market research, including travel as needed.
  • Highly developed sense of responsibility and initiative.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all management and industry professionals.
  • Able to independently manage time effectively in-order to efficiently work on varied and concurrent projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Approaches problems with genuine curiosity; independently seeks out better methods, tools, and information sources without waiting to be directed. Comfortable operating in ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., large language models, AI research assistants) to improve the speed and quality of financial analysis, market research, and written deliverables. Willingness to self-teach new tools as the landscape evolves.

Compensation
We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $120,000 - $150,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role. Hiring at the top of the range is reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates. We consider internal and external factors as a part of every final offer. We also offer a generous total compensation and benefits package.
