Real Estate Associate Attorney (2–10 Years)
Location: Los Angeles or Orange County

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded national midsize firm in its Los Angeles or Orange County office. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a sophisticated real estate practice representing developers and investors in complex transactional matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing matters
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements
  • Conduct and oversee due diligence, including title and survey review
  • Prepare and review leases, subleases, licenses, and easements
  • Assist with loan documents, joint ventures, LLC operating agreements, and limited partnership agreements
  • Support developers and investors on sophisticated real estate transactions from inception through closing

Qualifications:

  • 4–7 years of real estate transactional experience at a law firm
  • Strong background handling acquisitions, sales, financing, and leasing transactions
  • Experience with purchase and sale agreements and real estate due diligence
  • Familiarity with joint venture structures and finance documents
  • Experience with transactions involving eminent domain is a plus
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Active California bar admission required

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $150,000 – $300,000, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus eligibility, including a 15% bonus opportunity tied to billable expectations
  • Billable hour target: 1,850 hours, including approved pro bono time
