Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30a-5:30p (40/hrs.)

Starting Pay: $14.28-$22.61/hr. (based on level of education)



Job Summary:

At Pathfinder, our Early Learning Center Teacher Assistants play a key role in nurturing the next generation. This position supports classroom educators by helping create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child can grow, learn, and thrive.


As a Teacher Assistant at Pathfinder, You Will:

Classroom Support & Instruction

  • Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with NAEYC, FSSA, and Paths to Quality standards
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences that support physical, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture using Conscious Discipline and responsive care practices

Family & Team Collaboration

  • Partner with families to support each child's unique needs and learning style
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, substitutes, and center staff to maintain a consistent and supportive environment

Documentation & Compliance

  • Participate in child development assessments and communicate results with families
  • Follow Indiana Child Care Licensing Guidelines and ensure classroom compliance with health, safety, and documentation standards

Ongoing Development & Training

  • Complete at least 20 hours of annual training related to Early Childhood Development
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and participate in internal and external committees as assigned

Requirements

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and ability to obtain a CDA within four months of hire.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
  • Essential physical skills - be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance; and be able to implement CPR and First Aid when needed.
