Job description

Just Right Reader is a forward-thinking curriculum provider committed to advancing literacy for students from Birth through 12th Grade. Our comprehensive resources are designed to support all learners, including upper-grade students requiring additional intervention to develop foundational skills. Grounded in the Science of Reading, our high-quality materials and tools equip educators with the support they need to accelerate achievement and foster lifelong readers.
The Role: Partnerships Director
Are you a current or former principal, assistant principal or ELA or curriculum leader at the district level who wants to keep making a difference in literacy, from a new angle? Apply to join our growing team of former educators, literacy experts, and product innovators committed to changing what's possible in early literacy.
At Just Right Reader, we work alongside schools and districts across the country to improve early literacy through decodable texts grounded in the Science of Reading. We create decodable books that are engaging and effective. Most importantly, kids actually enjoy reading them.
We're hiring experienced educators who have significant experience at the administration level of a school or school district to serve as a sales representative in our Partnership Director role.
As a Partnerships Director, you'll work directly with district and school leaders to understand their needs and bring them solutions that help students learn to read. You will also play a major role in growing our presence across your region by developing relationships, attending regional events, and converting those relationships into long-term, revenue generating partnerships..
THIS ROLE REQUIRES TRAVEL WITHIN THE DESIGNATED REGION
What You'll Do:
  • Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through signed agreement
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with school and district leaders
  • Actively generate new opportunities by identifying leads, making outreach, and developing a robust pipeline
  • Deeply understand local literacy priorities, funding sources, and district goals to position Just Right Reader as the right solution
  • Represent Just Right Reader at regional conferences, events, and meetings with decision-makers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff and successful long-term implementation
  • Consistently meet or exceed your sales goals for district growth and product adoption

What You Bring:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a school or district leader (such as principal, assistant principal, curriculum director, or instructional coach)
  • Strong understanding of foundational literacy and the science of reading
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and contribute to a collaborative team
  • Comfort with storytelling, strategy, and working with data to guide decisions
  • A natural drive to sell - this can mean you've closed deals in education, pitched programs to your district, or even worked retail in college. You're energized by the challenge of getting to "yes" and aren't afraid to own a sales quota

Why Join Us:
At Just Right Reader, we're transforming how children learn to read. You'll be part of a passionate, growing team committed to educational equity, literacy innovation, and joyful learning.
Perks and Benefits:
  • Fully remote role, with occasional travel to schools, district offices, and conferences
  • Company expense card and home office stipend
  • Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Annual $500 childcare credit plus Urbansitter membership
  • A mission-driven team that is passionate about literacy

Just Right Reader will run background checks after accepted offer letter on all hires.
