Are you ready to make a difference in young readers' lives - all from the comfort of your home?
At Hoot Reading, we're on a mission to change children's lives through literacy, and we're growing our Hoot Teacher Network!
Educators at Hoot Reading provide 1:1 lessons for their students using innovative tech and a Science of Reading curriculum to empower teachers to focus on what they do best-teaching! We primarily support students during school hours through school-district partnerships.
Your Availability and Schedule:
  • Work Location: Remote
  • Start Date: September 8- orientation and training will begin then, with programs launching in September/October
  • Availability Between: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, during standard school hours. This is a part-time role, and hours depend on student enrollment and scheduling needs.
  • Commitment: Up to 25 hours per week. Actual hours are not guaranteed and are based on teacher availability aligning with program demand.
  • Consistency: Students meet with their teacher three times per week at the same time of day. For this reason, we prioritize teachers who can provide consistent availability across multiple weekdays (Monday to Friday).

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in education (or equivalent) is required.
  • 2+ years of K-6 teaching experience with a strong grasp of phonics, decoding and reading fundamentals.
  • Tech-savvy with a reliable laptop, internet, and quiet workspace.
  • Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
