What is a Readiness Program Manager?

A Readiness Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that an organization, team, or project is fully prepared to achieve its goals, especially during times of change or when launching new initiatives. They assess current processes, identify gaps in skills or resources, and develop plans to address these gaps. Their role often includes coordinating training, communication, and resource allocation to optimize performance and minimize risks. These competencies ensure smooth program execution, organizational preparedness, and effective response to business disruptions.

How does a Readiness Program Manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success?

A Readiness Program Manager works closely with various departments such as product, operations, sales, and customer support to align project deliverables and timelines. They facilitate regular meetings, coordinate communication, and manage dependencies to ensure all stakeholders are prepared for upcoming launches or changes. Job description

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support a large, long-term customer engagement focused on construction, facility customization, and operational stand-up. This role will be responsible for overseeing program execution from facility leasing through buildout and transitioning the program into steady-state operations.
The Program Manager will own the master program schedule and be responsible for cost tracking, vendor coordination, and reporting cadence, while providing day-to-day leadership and resource management across a small administrative support team. The ideal candidate has direct experience with construction contracts, schedule-driven delivery environments, and financial oversight for complex programs.
This position requires daily, in-person presence at the primary worksite.
Responsibilities
Program Planning & Execution
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the master program schedule, including construction milestones, inspections, and operational readiness activities
  • Support stakeholders in defining program scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Ensure all workstreams are properly resourced, sequenced, and executed in alignment with customer and business priorities
  • Track and manage multiple concurrent projects and task orders within the overall program

Financial Management & Cost Control
  • Perform financial tracking, cost assessments, and variance analysis across the program
  • Support budget development, forecast updates, and funding alignment
  • Monitor vendor invoices, change orders, and cost performance against contractual terms

Vendor & Contract Management
  • Coordinate and manage construction vendors, subcontractors, and service providers
  • Support administration of construction and facilities-related contracts
  • Track vendor performance, deliverables, and compliance with schedule and scope

Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare and deliver monthly program status reports, including schedule, cost, risks, and issues
  • Provide clear, timely communication to internal leadership and customer stakeholders
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks impacting schedule, cost, or performance

Resource & Team Management
  • Effectively allocate and manage administrative and program support personnel
  • Provide tasking, prioritization, and coordination across the program support team
  • Serve as the primary in-person point of contact for day-to-day program coordination and issue resolution

Process & Compliance
  • Utilize appropriate program and project management tools to track progress and performance
  • Continuously improve program management processes and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable industry standards

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Project Management, Engineering, Business, or associated area
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in construction, facilities, or infrastructure-related programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing schedules, budgets, vendors, and resources on complex, multi-phase projects
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost, schedule, and performance data
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
  • Ability to adapt program management approaches to customer-driven and evolving requirements
