Jamison Professional Services, Inc. ("Jamison") is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Reader Services.
Job Title: Virtual Reader Services - Atlanta, GA
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Reader Services shall be provided virtually. Up to thirty-five (35) hours per week of Reader Services and minor computer assistance will be required. The average estimated weekly number of hours is expected to remain consistent at thirty (30). Additional hours up to two (2) hours per week may be requested to provide Reader Services in the event of unscheduled training, town halls, and meetings as well as Reader Services for veterans and their dependents at the Atlanta Regional Office.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Associate's Degree or Equivalent and some prior office experience.
Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Requires at least two (2) years of experience working in an office environment
Prefer previous experience working with the Blind/Low Vision
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Successfully pass background checks and complete the VA mandatory training for access to PII
• Provide reading support via Microsoft Teams in a virtual environment
• Read aloud materials not accessible with a screen reader
• Navigate many different VA computer systems including CAPRI, CWINRS, TMS, VBMS, IPPS, PA&I OBIEE, e-VA and SHARE screens not accessible with a screen reader
• Ensure formatted letters and forms are correct
• Assist in reading/digitally signing PDF documents
• Assist in navigating, reading, and operating Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Assist with mouse/cursor manipulations
• Provide such other visual aid services as may be needed and reasonable under the circumstances to assist the employee with completion of job assignments
HOURS OF OPERATION
The employee requiring Reader Services currently works Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
The contractor is responsible for Reader Services, between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday except for Federal holidays or when the Government is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed closings. The reader's daily schedule shall include a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch break which shall follow the VA employee's lunch break time.
PRIMARY PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:
The primary place of work to be performed under this contract will be virtual.
TRAVEL:
The contractor is not expected to travel. Services will be provided in a virtual environment
Clearance Level Required: Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.
