The Role: Front End Application Developer

Location: Durham, NC

Type: Full time

What You ll Do:

We are looking for a senior C# .NET mobile and web software developer to lead new features and improvements to our Managed Transportation mobile and web application systems, using React Native CLI technologies with a focus on agile engineering practices. We are interested in candidates with strong React Native CLI skills. We value engineering discipline and favor developers with strong experience in test driven development (TDD) and a focus on quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Design code and tests in C# for new mobile features using React Native CLI while continuously supervising improvements of the current implementation.
  • Deeply committed to continuous improvement, refactoring, TDD and pair programming to achieve technical excellence and support long-term customer value.
  • Expert working in agile teams, using incremental and iterative development to cope with uncertainty and maintain flow.
  • Reviewing code of other developers in your workstream and supporting them in improving their design and development skills
  • Collaborate directly with end-users, business analysts and quality assurance, playing an active role in planning and user story development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues (including vendor teams) and advise on ways to improve skills and practices.
  • Contribute and sometimes lead planning meetings, working with BA and QA as necessary to question, refine and size user stories to enable them for development. With a particular emphasis on quality assurance and acceptance criteria.
  • Understand the importance of code refactoring (and when and how to apply it) and minimizing technical debt to maintain system quality.
  • System support in appropriate time-zones.
  • Acquiring deep expertise in the domain.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in C#.NET (Framework 4.x or Core/Standard)
  • 5+ years combined mobile experience in React Native Cli/Xamarin/Maui/Blazer technologies and mobile application deployment
  • 5+ years experience in developer automated testing (unit, functional and beyond) using [n][x]Unit/Specflow/Playwright/Appium
  • 5+ years experience in related industries Logistics is ideal but platform-heavy businesses like Retail/Banking/Insurance are also relevant.
  • Agile mindset with XP development practices: Refactoring, Pair programming, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, Evolutionary System Architecture.
  • Ability to design and build efficient software systems using object-oriented and event-driven approaches in a domain-driven design paradigm.
  • Strong engineering discipline, particularly in the use of version control using git.
  • Innovator, looking to promote ideas in ways to improve technology and process.
  • Experience supporting live systems and coping with production issues.
  • Thrive in a self-managing team, building agreement and helping everyone perform well together.
  • Team player with high standards, including collaboration with vendor teams.
  • Good communicator able to work well with users and senior management.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused when prioritizing competing demands with the skills to help others do the same

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Azure Microsoft Cloud and DevOps for managing development, deployment, etc.
  • Exposure to other mobile frameworks like React Native, Flutter etc., Javascript
  • Experience in using FRP (Functional Reactive Programming) and Rx
  • SQL Server (2016 and later)
  • Experience of using Telerik UI components
