About the Role
We are a rapidly growing law firm seeking a detail-oriented, multi-tasking Paralegal to join our team. Our Paralegals play a crucial role in supporting our cases, delivering exceptional service to our clients, and making a significant impact within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Track case progress from "start to finish" ensuring all deadlines are met and all procedures are properly followed
  • Prepare legal correspondence, court forms, briefs, pleadings, discovery, financial documents, and client declarations
  • Prepare, review and analyze filings and discovery
  • Prepare for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits, preparing filings, and creating binders
  • Follow up with clients re. discovery responses
  • Follow up with entities regarding subpoena requests
  • Review financial documents
  • Investigate facts by performing public records and social media searches
  • Maintain the attorney's calendar to schedule meetings, calendar hearings, discovery, etc.
  • File pleadings electronically or prepare them to be physically filed by the Runner
  • Maintain current knowledge of all rules of court and local rules
  • Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas or service of documents
  • Delegate administrative tasks to legal assistants as available while ensuring all work is completed. Perform all Legal Secretary duties but may delegate tasks as available.
  • Ensure all client files are complete and up-to-date
  • Assisting attorneys with projects as needed and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Paralegal Certificate required, bachelor's degree a plus
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in family law in Los Angeles County required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Attention to detail - able to follow detailed instructions
  • Capable of being resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as general office software including email, video conferencing, and internet browser

Additional Information
  • This role can be remote or hybrid at our West Hollywood office, Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00.
  • If you do not have experience in Los Angeles County, your application will not be considered.
  • The anticipated compensation for this role is $40 - $50 per hour, but ultimately will depend on experience.
