Job description

Senior Product Manager, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

About Us:

WellNow Urgent Care is one of the fastest-growing providers of urgent medical care in the United States, with more than 150 centers across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania. WellNow's organic growth, acquisitions, and partnerships have made it one of the top 10 urgent care providers in the country. Patients can walk in or schedule a visit online seven days a week, and through WellNow's Virtual Care platform, patients can speak with a provider 24/7 from the comfort of home. WellNow is supported by TAG (The Aspen Group), one of the largest retail healthcare business support organizations in the U.S., providing centralized infrastructure and services across its portfolio of brands including Aspen Dental, ClearChoice, Chapter Aesthetic Studio, and Lovet Pet Veterinary Services.

This senior-level role will join the Product & UX organization to lead and define the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) product strategy for WellNow Urgent Care. Reporting into TAG's centralized product leadership, the Senior PM will serve as the RCM subject matter expert - accountable for driving measurable improvements in net collection rate, days in AR, and denial rates across WellNow's 150+ centers through scalable, technology-driven solutions. This is a high-visibility role that requires deep RCM domain expertise, strong executive communication skills, and the ability to influence operational and clinical stakeholders to align on product investment priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Discovery-Oriented: You will proactively seek to understand the pain points of billing staff, coders, denial management specialists, and clinical operations leaders across WellNow's network. You'll dive deep into claims data, AR aging reports, denial trend analysis, and clearinghouse rejection patterns to uncover systemic root causes. You will own and drive the RCM product roadmap, identifying opportunities to transform manual, non-scalable billing processes into efficient, technology-driven solutions that reduce revenue leakage and accelerate reimbursement.

  • Business-Minded: You will frame all product recommendations with a clear understanding of financial and operational business value. You'll build models demonstrating both qualitative and quantitative benefits - including ROI projections, denial rate impact, and net collection rate improvement - ensuring your product solutions align with WellNow's revenue goals. You will connect every product decision to measurable outcomes and present compelling business cases to finance and operations leadership.

  • High-Impact Communications: You will be an advocate for the WellNow RCM product, translating complex billing and payer workflow problems into clear, actionable product requirements. Your communication skills will enable you to write compelling problem statements, business requirements, and user stories that drive clarity and alignment across billing operations, technology, compliance, and executive teams. You will regularly present product strategy and performance updates to senior and C-level stakeholders.

  • Agile-Minded: With a strong user focus on billing staff and patients, you will work closely with UX and Engineering teams to create meaningful, low-friction product experiences for RCM workflows. You will collaborate iteratively with developers and business analysts,

  • balancing technical feasibility with operational needs. You'll be skilled in defining product MVPs for RCM capabilities - such as automated eligibility verification and denial management workflows - and remain persistent in iterating toward the ultimate product vision.

  • Cross-Functional Influential Leadership: You will have the presence and leadership skills to motivate and align teams across UX, IT, marketing, and operations - even without direct reporting authority. You will build deep credibility with RCM operations leads and executive stakeholders, using your influence to drive product adoption, prioritize investments, and keep cross-functional teams focused on the shared goal of revenue cycle excellence across WellNow's network.

  • Stakeholder Management: You will navigate a diverse set of stakeholders - including WellNow center operators, RCM operations, finance leadership, payer relations, compliance, and TAG central teams - using strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to drive alignment. You'll manage competing priorities and differing expectations, ensuring all voices are heard and that product decisions maximize revenue recovery while supporting outstanding patient financial experiences.

  • Prioritization: You will lead rigorous, data-driven prioritization for the WellNow RCM product portfolio, balancing short-term wins - such as denial rate reduction and eligibility automation - with long-term strategic investments in AI-assisted coding, predictive denial prevention, and patient self-service billing. You'll craft and continuously refine roadmaps that deliver meaningful financial impact while maintaining the agility to respond to payer rule changes and regulatory shifts.

  • Drive for Results: You will build RCM products with clear performance metrics in mind from day one. You'll design dashboards and reporting frameworks that allow you and your stakeholders to track key performance metrics. You will use data-driven insights to continuously optimize the revenue cycle, demonstrate the ROI of product investments, and present performance results to senior leadership.

  • Delivery-Oriented: You will be an effective, empowering member of agile delivery teams, balancing the need for precise RCM requirements with the autonomy that lets UX and engineers do their best work. Your focus will be on shipping impactful RCM product features on time.

  • RCM Product Ownership: You will own the WellNow RCM product roadmap end-to-end, spanning patient registration and insurance verification, real-time eligibility checks, CPT/ICD charge capture, claims submission and clearinghouse integration, denial management and appeals automation, and patient billing communications. You will ensure that product solutions reduce claim denial rates, accelerate reimbursement timelines, and minimize manual intervention for billing staff.

  • Denial Management & Claims Optimization: You will define and drive product features that proactively surface denial root causes, automate appeals workflows, and reduce costly rework in the billing cycle. You will partner with WellNow's RCM operations team to establish tight feedback loops between denial data and front-end process changes - ensuring coding errors, eligibility failures, and documentation gaps are caught before claim submission.

  • Patient Financial Experience: You will champion patient-centric billing experiences, defining product requirements for transparent billing statements, flexible self-serve payment options, automated payment reminders, and 24/7 digital support for billing inquiries. You will balance financial recovery goals with patient trust and retention, using patient satisfaction data alongside collection metrics to inform product decisions across WellNow's walk-in and virtual care channels.

  • RCM Market Intelligence & Strategy: You will stay close to the evolving RCM and urgent care technology landscape - monitoring competitor products, emerging AI/automation capabilities, payer rule changes, and CMS regulatory updates - to ensure WellNow's RCM product strategy is grounded in where the market is headed. You will bring external insights into roadmap decisions and advise TAG leadership on investment opportunities and emerging risks in healthcare revenue cycle technology.

  • Ethics and Values: You will act in line with WellNow's and TAG's core values, consistently demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making throughout the product lifecycle. You will ensure all RCM product solutions maintain full compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, Medicare/Medicaid billing rules, and applicable state regulations - treating patient financial data with the highest standards of privacy and security.

Experience/Education:

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a demonstrated track record of not only implementing healthcare technology best practices but continuously improving upon them; proven success shipping products that drive measurable financial and operational outcomes.

  • Deep expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management - provider-side, payer-side, or health tech - with hands-on knowledge of urgent care or ambulatory RCM workflows including walk-in patient registration, real-time insurance eligibility verification, CPT/ICD-10 coding, charge capture, claim scrubbing, clearinghouse integrations, payer adjudication rules, denial management, and patient collections.

  • Demonstrated success in directing and executing complex product management initiatives across cross-functional teams; experience managing multi-product RCM portfolios and translating operational pain points into scalable technology solutions.

  • Strong technical and operations acumen: ability to understand the implications of EHR/EMR integrations, clearinghouse connections, payer APIs, data quality, and back-end services on RCM workflow efficiency, claim acceptance rates, and reimbursement timelines.

  • Fluency in RCM KPIs and financial performance metrics, including net collection rate, days in accounts receivable (AR), first-pass claim acceptance rate, denial rate, cost-to-collect, and patient collection rate; proven ability to connect product investments directly to financial outcomes and present ROI to executive leadership.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations as they relate to urgent care settings; ability to translate regulatory changes into product requirements and compliance controls.

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, statistics, economics, or healthcare administration required; MBA, MIS, or MS in a related field strongly preferred.

  • Clear passion for WellNow's mission of making quality urgent care accessible - and the ability to identify strategic opportunities for product innovation within healthcare revenue cycle and patient financial experience.

  • Proven skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels - from billing specialists to C-suite executives - to drive product decisions and adoption.

  • Entrepreneurial with a strong bias toward action and results; self-directed and able to solve complex RCM business challenges, manage shifting payer requirements, and prioritize work in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment.

  • Ability to lead without direct authority, building credibility and trust across billing operations, IT, clinical, finance, and compliance teams across TAG's multi-brand organization.

  • Ability to conduct own analyses and leverage both qualitative and quantitative insights - including claims data, denial analytics, AR aging reports, and patient satisfaction data - to inform product strategy and roadmap prioritization.

  • Drive to become the recognized subject matter expert in RCM product management within TAG, continuously deepening domain expertise and sharing knowledge across the broader product organization.

  • Communicates effectively and listens actively; strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex RCM workflows and product tradeoffs clearly to both technical teams and non-technical executive stakeholders.

Annual Salary Range: $120,000-$160,000, plus 10% annual bonus with a generous benefits package that includes paid time off, health, dental, vision, and 401(k) savings plan with match
