Job description

Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

Bald Mountain is an important contributor to the economy of northeastern Nevada and maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery and education.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Process Maintenance General Supervisor, the incumbent will provide planning services to the assigned maintenance areas. Ensures the work is properly planned, and scheduled with trade requirements, stores material, direct purchase material, and specialty service(s) identified on the work order, while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Develop and maintain an overall maintenance program for the assigned area that will ensure production goals and availabilities are maintained.
•    Long and short range work planning.
•    Participate in the application of Reliability Methodologies for supporting the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies (RCM, RCA, FMECA, etc.) 
•    Produces standard jobs, preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks and schedules for equipment.
•    Ensure that all parts and materials are ordered in a timely manner.
•    Develop and oversee the Strategic Business Plan and budgeting process for the assigned area. Annual budgeting procedures will be focused around achieving zero based budgets.
•    Monitor year to date cost performance/analyze forecasted budget against actual.
•    Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
•    Help develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
•    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 
•    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
•    Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
•    Works without risk or harm to self and others. 
•    Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by state agency, or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam.
•    Punctuality and regular attendance required.
•    Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

•    Five years of previous Planning or Mechanical experience in a Processing environment on electrical or mechanical process equipment preferred
•    A minimum of 6 months' experience as a parts coordinator preferred.
•    Mechanical understanding of processing equipment to support effective planning.
•    Must be JDE computer literate and have a good understanding of the process and equipment involved.

•    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of leaching and maintenance operations.
•    Candidates with background in Process Maintenance and/or Process Electrical & Instrumentation are strongly preferred. 
•    Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 
•    Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
•    Ability to work independently and also as a member of the overall team. 
•    Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
•    Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
