General Description of the Position:
Under the authority and direction of the Scotland County Coordinator of Learning Resources, the test proctor ensures the integrity, security, and fairness of the testing process by administering exams in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include verifying examinee identification, explaining testing rules, monitoring the testing environment to prevent misconduct, providing technical or procedural assistance when appropriate, documenting irregularities, and maintaining a secure and professional testing environment. Test Proctors are committed to protecting the confidentiality of exam materials while delivering excellent customer service to all examinees.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Position:
  1. Prepare and set up the testing venue according to specific guidelines
  2. Clarify test instructions and ensure all students understand the test rules
  3. Monitor students during the test to prevent cheating
  4. Ensure a quiet and distraction-free testing environment
  5. Collect, organize, and secure all test materials after exam
  6. Document any irregularities or incidents that occur during the test
  7. Communicate with faculty regarding student behaviors or concerns
  8. Ensure all tests are started and finished on time
  9. Maintain confidentiality of test content and student information
  10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Scotland County Coordinator of Learning Resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to work collaboratively; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and willingness to work in the morning, afternoon, or evening as needed. Knowledge of modern communication mediums, technologies, and practices is preferred.
