Job description

Registrar Technician

The Registrar Technician, under the supervision of the Registrar and under the authority of the Vice President of Student Services, provides administrative, technical, and customer service support for the operations of the Registrar's Office and Testing Center. This position is responsible for assisting with student registration, records maintenance, transcript processing, graduation support, data verification and reporting, and Testing Center operations. The Registrar Technician must maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while providing exceptional service to students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  1. Enter student registrations and process student schedule changes, drops, and withdrawals in the Student Information System (SIS).
  2. Process and issue official student transcripts, certificates, and other academic records in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  3. Assist with compiling, reviewing, correcting, and verifying student data for semester reporting and other institutional reports.
  4. Scan, index, and maintain student records, including external transcripts, withdrawal forms, and other official documents using document imaging software.
  5. Assist students with completing withdrawal forms and explain applicable procedures and deadlines.
  6. Verify, enter, update, and correct student application, registration, transcript, and academic record information within the Student Information System.
  7. Assist with graduation-related processes and support campus commencement ceremonies.
  8. Obtain and maintain required certifications and credentials for testing platforms utilized in the Testing Center.
  9. Administer exams and serve as a test proctor as needed to provide backup support for Testing Center operations.
  10. Provide front desk coverage as needed, respond to inquiries, and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  11. Provide administrative and operational support to the Registrar, Assistant Registrars, and Testing Center Facilitator to ensure efficient daily operations.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with all applicable federal and institutional regulations, including FERPA.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong data entry skills. Ability to organize workload, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Education and Experience: Associate degree required. Experience working in a community college or higher education setting in student records, admissions, registration, testing services, or customer service preferred.

Work Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:30AM - 8:00PM Salary Grade: RCC Salary Schedule Location: Main Campus
