The Payroll Representative is responsible for processing hourly and salaried payroll, preparing on-line payroll data for the timely and accurate payment of employees, balancing of payroll reports and records, answering payroll inquiries and providing guidance to internal and external personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes PeopleSoft and Workday payroll system to process weekly payroll, adhering to processing schedule.
  • Run various established queries to obtain payroll information.
  • Reviews other processors work.
  • Acts as backup to process direct deposit authorization forms.
  • Review source documents such as correspondence and company forms to determine computer input necessary for required transactions.
  • Process imports from PeopleSoft database and audit transactions against source documents for accuracy.
  • Determine and enter payroll input necessary to calculate the pay for new hires, terminations, and situations that require adjustments to normal pay.
  • Prepare manual checks and generate required input data.
  • Application of knowledge of Federal/State/Local tax withholding regulations to determine what taxes to withhold under a variety of situations.
  • Verify accuracy of Human Resources/Payroll related transactions by utilizing various computerized audit reports.
  • Analyze control reports for data accuracy.
  • Research and investigate all problems, corrections, and questions relative to weekly payroll payments.
  • Responsible for weekly child support and garnishment processes to interface with AP payments system.
  • Runs weekly term garnishment process, pulling files and notifying courts of employee terminations.
  • New hire reporting process.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have the ability to perform each essential duty listed satisfactorily.

  • High school diploma with work experience in accounting/payroll required.
  • 2 year degree with Accounting course work and Payroll work experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years work experience in a Corporate Payroll department preferred.
  • Familiarity with Payroll administration preferred.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Hourly pay for this role: $21.00 - $25.00per hour. Actual pay varies based on experience, training, and location. Rates may differ due to state or local minimum wage requirements. Hourly team members are eligible for overtime according to applicable laws and RBI's policies.
