Job description

Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a RBI Analyst to utilize a software suite known as "PCMS" to analyze refinery equipment and to provide a risk based inspection (RBI) methodology to the equipment. Reviews historical and current inspection data to ensure risk is managed within HF Sinclair risk profile while maintaining the most efficient inspection plan/s.
Job Duties
  • Executes and manages RBI plans with detailed schedules and resources in-line with the Company's strategy.
  • Executes, manages and provides technical support for implementing and utilizing RBI methodology
  • Utilizes the PCMS software to analyze equipment risk and provide optimized strategies to the inspection plan/s
  • Measures and ensures effective implementation of RBI Management Systems at site.
  • Delivers training required to implement and sustain RBI Programs.
  • Considers opportunities for resource sharing across refining sites to ensure adequate support and consistent implementation.
  • Manages and tracks inspection department Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Monitors and tracks inspection "saves".
  • Participates in Industry Association activity (API, AFPM, etc.) related to RBI to keep abreast of improved learning and methods.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced refinery personnel in the use of RBI methodology.
  • Manages mechanical integrity of refinery equipment.
  • Ensures company records comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in the review of equipment for accuracy of corrosion rates, scope and frequency of inspections.
  • Assists with interpreting inspection results, analyzing data for possible for trends, and prioritizing work for corrective action.
  • Manages refinery risk register
  • Manages issuance of Equipment Deficiencies and non-conformance reports.
  • Assists with development of inspection plans and department procedures.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion. 

Experience
A minimum of 10 years of inspection experience in the refining industry is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
Required Skills
  • Proficient with PCMS
  • Experienced in the establishment of RBI methodology
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and commonly used engineering concepts and experience with engineering software.
  • Familiar with standard operating and maintenance practices for all types of process equipment. Excellent oral and written communication, networking and interpersonal skills; good presentation and training skills. Familiarity with standards and practices of the Reliability Engineering discipline and corrosion degradation and integrity.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May be responsible for the supervision of contracted Inspectors and Technicians.
Work Conditions
Office and field based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting ,twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspection, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 40lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 40lbs, climbing up to 180ft, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.
