What You Will Do:
This role is for an experienced Software Engineer in developing and deploying software for real-time mission-critical systems. Key responsibilities include:
Design, implement, and maintain software applications using C/C++ and Python.
  • Work within an Agile team to design, develop, test, and deploy software components that support real-time data collection, processing, and user interaction across distributed systems.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, configuration management activities, and automated testing within a mature CI/CD environment.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, test, and data engineering teams to ensure software components integrate smoothly and support overall system objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and contribute to formal design reviews.
  • Travel to customer sites for the purpose of testing and deployment.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in C/C++ and Python for application development, data processing, and automation.
  • Experience with design, code, integration, and test of large system.
  • Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as and when required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with the requirements development and flow down process.
  • Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development Methodologies.
  • Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Experience in radar-domain software development, signal processing, and/or system integration.
  • Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
  • Knowledge of integration and testing of air, land or sea-based mission systems from SIL through flight test.
  • Internship or project experience involving data pipelines, AI/ML integration, or cross-domain systems.
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Well-developed communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active U.S. government-issued security clearance (must be transferable).

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
