Director of Renewals

Austin, TX • Remote

Full-time

Job description

Help us build the next generation of renewals at Sembi.

Sembi is the parent company behind leading software quality and DevOps brands including TestRail, Xray, Testmo, Ranorex, PreEmptive, and Kiuwan. Our products help development, QA, and security teams build, test, secure, and ship better software with confidence.

We’re bringing these businesses together to create a stronger, more connected customer experience while preserving the unique strengths of each brand. As we continue to grow, we’re investing in the capabilities that will help us build lasting customer relationships, and renewals is at the heart of that mission.

The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Renewals to lead our global renewals organization across the Sembi portfolio.

This is an opportunity to build and lead a world-class renewals function spanning six established software brands and thousands of customers around the world. You’ll own the strategy, operating model, forecasting, performance, and team responsible for protecting Sembi’s recurring revenue and strengthening customer retention.

This isn’t a role focused simply on processing renewals. We’re looking for someone who can transform renewals into a predictable, data driven, customer centric revenue engine.

You’ll report to the VP of Customer Experience and work closely with Customer Success, Support, Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, and Marketing leaders across Sembi.

What You'll Own
  • Lead Sembi’s global renewals strategy across TestRail, Xray, Testmo, Ranorex, PreEmptive, and Kiuwan, owning retention performance, renewal bookings, churn, contraction, and overall renewal outcomes.
  • Build a predictable renewals engine with consistent methodologies, processes, playbooks, and operating rhythms across brands and customer segments.
  • Own the renewals pipeline and CRM discipline, establishing clear standards for opportunity management, renewal stages, close dates, risk identification, and data quality.
  • Drive forecasting and executive visibility, building reliable renewal forecasts, dashboards, and reporting that clearly communicate pipeline health, risks, trends, and expected outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate renewal risk early, partnering with Customer Success and other teams to develop proactive strategies for at-risk customers and prevent avoidable churn.
  • Use data and customer insights to improve retention, analyzing churn, contraction, renewal performance, and customer trends across products, segments, and geographies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high performing global renewals team, establishing clear goals, accountability, performance expectations, and career development.
  • Partner across the business with Customer Success, Support, Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, and Marketing to create a connected customer lifecycle and seamless renewal experience.
  • Improve systems, automation, and operational efficiency, partnering with Operations and Finance to strengthen CRM data, system integrations, workflows, and reporting.
  • Evolve the renewals function into a strategic revenue discipline, continuously raising the bar on predictability, productivity, customer retention, and scalable growth.
What You Bring
  • Significant experience leading SaaS renewals, customer success, account management, or another recurring revenue function.
  • Proven success improving retention and reducing churn at scale.
  • Experience managing a substantial recurring revenue portfolio and renewal forecast.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics including GRR, NRR, churn, contraction, ARR, and forecast accuracy.
  • Experience building or transforming renewal processes and operating models.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and operational skills.
  • Exceptional cross functional leadership and communication abilities.
  • A track record of building and developing high performing teams.
  • Comfort working across multiple products, customer segments, and geographies.
  • A builder's mindset: you see ambiguity as an opportunity to create something better.
Why This Role?

This is a chance to have portfolio level impact.

You won’t be responsible for renewals for just one product. You’ll help define how six established Sembi brands retain and grow their customer relationships. You’ll have the visibility and influence to shape strategy, improve how we operate, develop a global team, and directly impact one of the most important drivers of our business.

If you’re an experienced renewals leader who loves building teams, creating predictability, solving complex problems, and turning customer retention into a competitive advantage, we’d love to meet you.
