Job description

Review test cases, documentation and test automation for Car-Part Checkmate inventory software products. Write new automated tests from manual test cases. Run test automation with a purpose of signing off on new features. Present automated test plans and test automation strategies to the group as needed. Research new automation and development technologies, and design automation to incorporate and test new technologies when possible. Help migrate manual tests into the automation suites. Help the Checkmate QA Manager strategize manual vs automated testing goals. Automate Checkmate testing efforts using Ranorex Studio. Gather information from team members and apply to automation of new and existing test plans.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

Ø  Work with Automation Lead to strategize the organization of automation solutions

Ø  Research new automation and development technologies and work with Automation Lead to implement into current solutions.

Ø  Advise Automation Lead on the necessary environments and credentials to complete automation tasks.

Ø  Understand company objectives and strategize with Automation Lead about how automation strategies can meet company objectives.

Ø  Automate and maintain Checkmate testing efforts using Ranorex Studio

Ø  Write or assist with Checkmate test automation planning, creation and execution of regression testing

Ø  Work with upper management, programmers and QA team to ensure testing is relevant and effective

Ø  Work with development to advise on automation friendly code

Ø  Provide process, project, and test documentation when necessary

Ø  Participate in regular team training and review meetings

Ø  Participate in daily scrum and team meetings

Ø  Document task status and test results in JIRA per the Car-part standards.

Ø  Effectively communicate with management, coworkers and external customers

Ø  Take initiative to learn and expand role

Ø  Comply with Car-Part.com procedures, rules, and regulations.

Ø  Perform other tasks and have such other responsibilities as assigned by Car-Part as needed


Essential Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Ø  At least 2 years’ experience

o   Ranorex Repository Knowledge

o   Ranorex Test Suite Structure

o   Ranorex data sources and parameter binding

Ø  Experience with C#, HTML, Perl or Java

Ø  Experienced with Standard Testing Methodologies

Ø  Experience with automated testing tools

Ø  Experience with SQL

Ø  Must be proactive, anticipate needs & work independently.

Ø  Experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ø  Skilled at debugging software and identifying syntax, coding, and design errors

Ø  Exposure to all phases of the software development process.

Ø  Practiced software and testing documentation skills, including commenting code, and creating unit test plans

Ø  Ability to work as a team member

Ø  Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

Ø  Self-motivated

Ø  Quality oriented, conscientious, and exceptionally thorough

Ø  Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks of a fast-moving environment in a timely fashion

Ø  Ability to focus on tasks to completion within deadline requirements and according to instruction
