About RAM Construction

RAM Construction is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in renovations, restoration, and occupied multifamily construction throughout Texas.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager to join our team.  This is a hybrid position that combines estimating, project management, and field supervision.

The ideal candidate is comfortable developing accurate project estimates, managing awarded projects, and spending time both in the office and on active job sites.  This role requires someone who can take ownership of a project from the initial walkthrough through final completion while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Estimating Responsibilities

  • Visit project sites to evaluate existing conditions and develop accurate project scopes.
  • Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate.
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Develop project budgets and complete bid packages.
  • Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from award through completion.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, manpower, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
  • Conduct regular site visits and oversee field operations.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, quality, and safety.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Review and manage change orders.
  • Resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and company quality standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the duration of each project.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction estimating and project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple concurrent commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and building systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Preferred

  • Experience with commercial renovations, occupied multifamily renovations, or insurance restoration.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and permitting requirements.
