Job description

Purpose
Responsible for end-to-end warehouse operations and inventory control activities, ensuring accurate inventory records, efficient material movement, regulatory compliance, and high service levels to internal and external customers.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
  1. Leads the warehouse team to ensure safe warehouse operations.
  2. Understands how warehouse operations impact product quality and implements practices and processes to continually improve.
  3. Understand the monthly shipping goals and plans and schedules the team to meet those goals.
  4. Coordinates with the customer service and production manager to ensure customer requirements are met at the lowest possible cost.
  5. Coordinates with the production manager to ensure material movement to meet production requirements while also maintaining accountability of material.
  6. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventories in conjunction with the site Controller.
  7. Investigate, document, and resolve inventory discrepancies and root causes.
  8. Manages the railcar fleet.
    1. Ensures the team is trained and capable to execute railcar movements.
    2. Optimizes the fleet to ensure service at the lowest cost.
    3. Coordinates and executes railcar movements throughout North America.
    4. Tracks railcars at locations and ensures demurrage costs are not incurred and charges demurrage to appropriate entities when they hold RMA railcars.
  9. Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP.
  10. Oversee staging and storage of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods optimizing space planning for production.
  11. Leads the warehouse supervisor to execute on truck scheduling, carrier pickups, order packaging supplies, and shipping/receiving documentation.
  12. Ensures appropriate level of packaging supplies to meet customer orders.
  13. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  14. Prepare inventory and operational reports for management.
  15. Identifies and implements cost improvement initiatives in the warehouse.
  16. Uphold company code of conduct and operational standards.
  17. Other duties as assigned by site leadership.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
    1. Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent is acceptable based upon prior experience and additional training/certifications obtained.
    2. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing warehouse operations and inventory control preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    3. Must be able to update/change/modify and pull reports from an ERP system. Must have demonstrated experience working in ERP/WMS systems.
    4. Must be able to download data and use MS Excel to analyze data, make recommendations and execute improvement actions.
    5. Demonstrated leadership and people management ability.
