Position Description:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for the general ledger, financial reporting, forecasting, analytics, and regulatory

compliance of all subsidiary entities. The person in this role will coordinate internally with field operations and

department heads to enforce timely reporting of all monthly financial information. They will progressively inherit

management of the Accounting team, and will report directly to the Controller.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

โ€ข Prepare subsidiary financial statements and provide analytics that adequately explain the numbers

โ€ข Perform monthly reconciliations between the general ledger and financial reports, as appropriate

โ€ข Resolve open purchase orders, rectifying issues with goods receipt and/or invoices received

โ€ข Coordinate internally with field operations and department heads to enforce timely and accurate reporting

โ€ข Monitor cash flow and reserve levels, providing weekly reconciliation of available funds to management

โ€ข Authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures

โ€ข Manage inventory and fixed asset reporting to ensure accurate financial representation

โ€ข Successfully manage up to 5 direct reports

โ€ข Support the Controller in managing overall financial operations at the consolidated entity level

โ€ข Assist the Controller with coordination of information for the annual financial audit and tax return

โ€ข Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow

โ€ข Willingly inherit any progressive duties from the Controller as role development and bandwidth allow

โ€ข Assist with any ad hoc requests deemed necessary by management

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

โ€ข 4-year degree in Accounting

โ€ข 2+ years of GAAP Accounting experience

โ€ข 2+ years supervising a team of 3+ employees

โ€ข Experience with project accounting and job costing

โ€ข Experience with financial consolidations and multiple company reporting a plus

โ€ข Strong background in inventory management a plus

โ€ข Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate as an efficient multi-tasker

โ€ข Demonstrated ability to lead, empower, and develop a team with a hands-on management style

โ€ข Capable of absorbing sudden business needs in a positive and effective manner

โ€ข Ability to implement and enforce procedures and controls with extreme process discipline and accountability

โ€ข Strong aptitude with technology including proficiency with Microsoft Online and Accounting-related software

โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

โ€ข Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to: lifting/carrying (up to 30 lbs), sitting,

kneeling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulder.
