Job description
Summary
Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist, Director of Radiology, Chairman, and/or Manager, the Radiologic Technologist Assistant provides support and assists the Radiologic Technologist and or Radiologist with radiographic imaging procedures.
Education
High school or equivalent (GED).
Certification, Registration, and Licensure
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
Experience
None required.
Responsibilities
Assists and supports the Technologist with related protocols, procedures and patient care.
Acts as a liaison between technologist, radiologist and other departmental personnel.
Verifies and documents pertinent exam information and assists with preparation and education of the patient for procedure and expectations.
Utilizes hospital and departmental information, technology systems and equipment operation.
Maintains a level of productivity, adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and
processes required to meet patient care and department needs.
Adheres to department policy and procedures and practices modality specific safety protocols.
Actively engages in departmental meetings,modality meetingsand committee initiatives.
Completes hospital, departmental, and professional requirements.
Participates in assignments, duties and responsibilities for continuous improvement in alignment with management and organizational goals
