Job description

Join Enstrom Helicopter in Menominee, Michigan, just 50 minutes north of Green Bay. Located along the shores of Lake Michigan, the Menominee/Marinette area is an outdoor paradise. At Enstrom, you will be part of a close-knit team where your work is seen and valued. As a proud U.S. manufacturer of FAA certified rotorcraft, we build nearly 90% of each helicopter in house. Our team enjoys a clean, growth focused environment with a Monday through Friday schedule.
Position: Avionics and Radio Installer/Assembler
Reports To: Director of Operations
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Shift: 1st Shift: Monday โ€“ Friday, 6:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM
Pay Range: $20.50 - $35.00
Grade: Tech IV
BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
Installs, builds, and wires avionics and electrical systems in helicopters and other products. Follows blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions to complete detailed electrical work.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
  • Installs, assembles, and wires avionics and electrical systems in helicopters following blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Installs instruments, switches, controls, and other avionics components. Uses hand tools and soldering equipment to complete wiring connections.
  • Programs and tests installed systems using electrical test equipment. Certifies altimeter and transponder systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs wiring, or equipment issues as needed. Assists with modifications, special projects, and customer service support.
  • Maintains tools and records, follows safety procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience working with aircraft electrical or avionics systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity (AC and DC circuits)
  • Ability to solder and perform quality wiring work.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to find and fix wiring or equipment problems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic shop math.
  • Ability to work safely and as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous avionics or aircraft electrical installation experience required.
  • FCC license (GROL with radio endorsement) preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience certifying altimeter and transponder systems preferred.
  • Must meet personal tool requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Adequate vision (corrected if necessary) to read blueprints and perform detailed wiring work.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
