Qualis LLC is looking for a full-time Radar Systems Engineer to work in the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Missile Warning (MW) mission area Our team is dedicated to advancing the SDA and MW missions through focused and innovative research and engineering. We are on the cutting edge of Deep Space surveillance radar technology and radar hardware solutions to enhance mission capabilities.

We focus on delivering rapid, high-value solutions to our customers by recruiting, growing, and mentoring top technical talent. We are motivated technical staff who are interested in working independently, collaboratively, and performing high-impact work from day one. Our engineers are willing and expected to dive deep into developing solutions to the most challenging technical problems. The systems engineer will be a team member on an Agile Modeling and Simulation development team building high fidelity SDA radar models.


Responsibilities

The Radar Systems Engineer (SE) will work within a multi-discipline team of engineers providing engineering support that addresses our customersโ€™ needs implementing current technology in the SDA and MW radars. The SE will be a team member on an Agile Modeling and Simulation development team building high-fidelity SDA radar models. The SE will be a self-starter who works well both in teams and independently. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and robust attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-accountability. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to):


  • Design and develop complex radar algorithms
  • Participate in Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming and Sprint Closeout
  • Document algorithm designs in System Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Design unit and integration tests to verify developed models
  • Conduct Peer Reviews and Code Inspections on software designs

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Security Clearance, preferably a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • 4 years of relevant work experience in SDA, Radar, Software engineering or Signal Processing (2 years with a masterโ€™s degree)
  • Experience working with government customers including the USAF and USSF
  • Working knowledge of software development in MATLAB and Object-Oriented Programming
  • Experience with design and operation of sensor systems (radar or electro-optical)
  • Experience in the Space Domain Awareness mission area
