We're looking for someone to join our team as a Billing Supervisor who:

Under direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, the Billing Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day functions of the billing department: billing, collections, payment posting, credit management, revenue integrity.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and collection activity for the department.

  • Develop, plan, organize and implement current and future strategies to bill payers, customers, process payments and minimize bad debt, improve cash flow and manage the overall health of the company’s receivables.

  • Meet deadlines related to month end processes and month end reporting.

  • Select, onboard, supervise and manage billing staff including scheduling, time off coordination and approvals, timecard maintenance and approvals, staff appraisals, and disciplinary actions.

  • Develop, deliver and assess effectiveness of training for billing staff.

  • Monitor work queue volumes; adjust and coordinate billing staff assignments.

  • Monitor and assess staff productivity and quality.

  • Coordinate information and workflows with practice managers, registration, clinical support and other operational staff.

  • Develop, deliver and assess effectiveness of training for practice managers, registration, clinical support and provider staff.

  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of the practice management system, including additions of providers, contracts, encounter rates, fee schedules, programming, and inventory controls.

  • Monitors third party payer payments, and billing requirements and makes proper notifications to payers to adjusts policies and procedures accordingly.

  • Review all adjustments, write-offs, and refunds.

  • Oversee of Monthly Hospital and Specialty Reimbursement Reconciliations

  • Attend additional training meetings/conventions as requested by the DRCM.

  • Consistently stay up to date with industry changes related to Coding and ICD10 use, as well as our Practice Management System.

  • Reasonable and predictable in person attendance.

  • Perform introductory and annual employee reviews, competency forms, and provide constructive feedback on their performance to help meet organizational and professional goals.

  • Perform other departmental related duties as required or assigned.


Other Responsibilities:

  1. On a scheduled basis may be required to work at any Satellite Facility.
  2. Ability to work a varied schedule that may include Saturday.
  3. Timely responses to email, phone calls and staff requests.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and office equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices and terminology used in financial and statistical clerical work.
  • Ability to post and to make arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Supervisory skills and experience.
  • Adherence to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or valid exemption request.
