Description:

Vision Quest Solutions is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide outpatient primary care services at the Wagner Indian Health Center in Wagner, South Dakota.


The selected provider will deliver comprehensive healthcare services to patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a collaborative environment while serving an underserved Native American community through the Indian Health Service (IHS).


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiology studies
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice
  • Coordinate referrals and specialty consultations as appropriate
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, disease prevention, and health maintenance
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and ancillary staff
  • Adhere to IHS, CMS, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current, active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
  • National Board Certification
  • Minimum three (3) years of Family Practice, Primary Care, Internal Medicine, or General Medicine experience within the last 36 months
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to successfully complete credentialing and privileging requirements
  • Strong computer and electronic medical record skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Indian Health Service experience
  • Tribal health or rural healthcare experience
  • Experience working in underserved communities
  • ACLS
  • PALS
