Job description

Markets - Quantitative Analysis, Full-Time Analyst, New York - USA, 2027
You're the brains behind our work.
Are you ready to bring your knowledge from the classroom to the trading floor? Citi wants to help you get there! Whether it's honing your skills or building your network, we know that success can't come without growth. Our programs equip you with the knowledge and training you need to play a valuable role on your team and establish a long-term career here. At Citi, we value internal mobility and career growth; it is not a question of if, but when.
Markets Quantitative Analysis (MQA) at Citi develops and implements mathematical models and analytical tools for pricing, risk management, and trading strategies across various asset classes. MQA professionals collaborate closely with traders, structurers, and risk managers to provide quantitative expertise and support critical business decisions. Their work involves analyzing market data, developing algorithms, and building software to enhance trading performance and manage risk effectively. MQA builds tools and models that assist traders and clients in pricing, hedging and structuring securities, and provide critical information and advice for managing risk across all market trading units. Trading increasingly relies on quantitative techniques as financial products become more sophisticated, and algorithmic trading models identify opportunities across many asset classes.
Citi Markets is looking for Full-Time Analysts to join the Citi Quantitative Analysis team at the New York headquarters.
We're committed to teaching you the ropes. Citi's Full-Time Analyst program starts in the Summer of 2027 and begins with orientation and training. This is a 2 ½ year program. The program is highly competitive and selective. Our analyst program gives recent graduates an introduction to our Equities, Foreign Exchange (FX), Rates, Commodities, and Spread Products franchises. Full-time Analysts gain exposure to senior professionals who will serve as their mentors throughout the program. At the end of the program, our goal is to ensure that Analysts are placed in a job that best pairs their skill sets and personal interests with the needs of the firm.
What you'll do:
  • We'll empower you to build tools and models that assist traders and clients in pricing, hedging, and structuring securities, and provide critical information and advice for managing risk across all market trading units.
  • We'll also enable you to research and analyze market trends for both internal and external clients.
By the end of the Program, we'll ensure that you have:
  • Developed a thorough understanding of financial markets
  • Utilized quantitative methods to model market behavior
  • Used data science techniques to analyze large-scale market data
  • Traded and/or structured exotic derivatives or designed trading algorithms
Qualifications:
  • Ability to think globally and creatively-with an innovative approach to doing business
  • Positive attitude and work ethic
  • High level of personal integrity, commitment to excellence and a desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
Education:
  • You have a GPA of 3.3 or above
  • You are obtaining a Bachelor's or Master's degree (excluding MBA's), majoring in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or a closely related degree.
  • You are currently graduating between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
  • You have excellent mathematical skills, specifically as it relates to Data Analysis and Statistical Modeling
  • You have excellent programming skills in one or more of these languages (Python, SQL, C++)
  • You have experience in designing, developing, and implementing AI models and machine learning algorithms
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with a strong attention to detail and exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • You are intellectually curious and proactively seek out new and creative ideas
  • You are a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a strong commitment to personal growth and career development, including mobility and flexibility
  • You have an unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in a second language is advantageous
