OurNortheast service center is currently looking for a Quality and SafetyCoordinator to join our management team and provide first-rate service to ourcustomers. This position is responsible for promoting Quality and Safety withinRolled Metal Products, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality andSafety Coordinator ensures the achievement of the required level of productquality as designated through Rolled Metal Products' quality system,established standards such as ISO 9001:2015, ASTM, and customer requirements.The Quality and Safety Coordinator is directly responsible for theimplementation and maintenance of the company quality system and reporting onits performance and continuous improvement activities, as well as acting asSafety Champion to maintain our full compliance to the State of Pennsylvania'scertified safety committee program. At a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical dutiesand responsibilities expected of the Quality and Safety Coordinator. Theseduties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of theorganization require.  

  • Apply principles and implement practices of the quality system in all aspects as established by ISO 9001:2015; formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate these objectives with system operating procedures and other management principles to maximize quality and minimize costs; create and document quality system procedures for all operations in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. Take a leadership role in any Quality Audits.
  • Assume the role of Safety Champion to maintain compliance with the State of Pennsylvania's certified safety committee program.
  • Review and interpret specifications, standards, and customer purchase orders and make decisions concerning the practical applications of RMP's products under conditions set forth by such documents.
  • Prepare and present reports and formal documents to management, customers, and vendors as appropriate in conducting business activities relevant to quality.
  • Investigate all measurable areas of system performance such as customer complaints, rejections, material returns, internal improvements, preventative action requests and corrective action requests and adjust in the quality system to improve performance for such, if applicable.
  • Interact effectively with all departments including Sales, Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse, Administration, Purchasing, and any level of management when necessary.
  • Travel when necessary to visit customers and vendors that require resolution of discrepancies or issues that cannot be resolved at the Rolled Metal Products location.
  • Promote, encourage and support employee training and development.
  • Promote a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee performance of all inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, products, and costs.
  • Present training to employees as necessary to ensure proper understanding of Rolled Metal Products' quality requirements.
  • Adhere to all employee handbook policies and procedures.

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year college degree in business or related area
  • Two years of experience in quality control
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
