We are an electronic retailer of jewelry and lifestyle products headquartered in Austin, Texas with a team of approximately 450 people. Our products are sold through TV (Cable, satellite, Telco’s and OTA’s), our website, OTT, marketplaces, and social media.

We are the US retailing unit and subsidiary of Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL)- a publicly listed company in India.

The other retailing units of VGL Group are in the UK (Shop TJC) and Germany (Shop LC, Germany). VGL Group is a vertical business, having its own manufacturing and sourcing units in India, China, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Our service to the community is run through our Your Purchase Feeds… program under which each retailing unit donates one nutritious meal to a school-going child in India, the US, the UK, and the Germany for each item sold through all its platforms. Group Head – Jewelry Quality Control (QC)

The Group Head – Jewelry Quality Control (QC) will lead and oversee the end-to-end quality assurance strategy for all jewelry categories across the VGL Group. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining global QC standards, ensuring regulatory and compliance adherence, and driving continuous quality improvement across sourcing, manufacturing, and finished goods supplied to Shop LC and other group entities.

The role is US-based and will work closely with global manufacturing units, sourcing teams, compliance, merchandising, and broadcast/e-commerce stakeholders to ensure best-in-class quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.

This role is critical in protecting brand trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and elevating the overall customer experience across Shop LC and the VGL Group. The Group Head – Jewelry QC will directly influence product integrity, customer satisfaction, and long-term brand value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Quality Leadership
    1. Own and define the group-wide QC vision, strategy, and standards for all jewelry categories including precious metals, gemstones, diamonds, and fashion jewelry.
    2. Establish uniform QC frameworks across global manufacturing and sourcing locations.
    3. Act as the final authority on quality decisions, escalations, and exceptions.
  • Manufacturing & Vendor Oversight
    1. Oversee QC processes across all VGL Group manufacturing units and third-party vendors.
    2. Ensure supplier compliance with approved specifications, workmanship standards, and ethical sourcing guidelines.
    3. Lead vendor audits, factory inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Compliance & Certification
    1. Ensure full compliance with US and international regulations including FTC guidelines, hallmarking laws, and gemstone disclosure standards.
    2. Oversee gemstone certification processes (GIA, IGI, etc.) and internal grading accuracy.
    3. Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on risk mitigation and regulatory updates.
  • Product Quality & Customer Experience
    1. Drive continuous improvement in product durability, finish, stone setting, and overall craftsmanship.
    2. Reduce customer returns, defects, and quality-related complaints through proactive quality controls.
    3. Partner with Customer Experience and Merchandising teams to address quality trends and feedback.
  • Testing, Processes & Documentation
    1. Define and implement testing protocols for metals, stones, plating, durability, and wearability.
    2. Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and QC reporting across all SKUs.
    3. Lead adoption of technology, automation, and data analytics in QC processes.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building
    1. Build, mentor, and lead global QC teams across regions.
    2. Set performance KPIs, training programs, and succession plans for QC leadership.
    3. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    1. Work closely with Buying, Product Development, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Broadcast, and E-commerce teams.
    2. Support new product launches, private labels, and exclusive collections with strong QC governance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Gemology, Jewelry Design/Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
    • Graduate Gemologist (GIA) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience
    • 15+ years of experience in Jewelry Quality Control, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership or group-level role.
    • Strong exposure to US retail, TV commerce, or large-scale e-commerce jewelry operations.
    • Hands-on experience with global manufacturing (India, Asia, Europe preferred).

Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of gemstones, diamonds, precious metals, casting, setting, finishing, and plating.
  • Strong understanding of global QC standards, audits, certifications, and compliance.
  • Experience managing high-SKU, fast-paced retail jewelry environments.
