What is a Remote Aerospace Source Inspector?

A Remote Aerospace Source Inspector is a quality assurance professional who inspects aerospace components, assemblies, or products at the supplier’s location, but performs much of their work remotely using digital tools and reporting systems. Their main responsibility is to ensure that the parts and materials meet strict industry and customer standards before they are shipped to manufacturers. Remote inspectors review documentation, conduct virtual inspections, and collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, helping to maintain safety and compliance in the aerospace supply chain.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Aerospace Source Inspector, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Aerospace Source Inspector, you need a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality assurance principles, and industry standards such as AS9100, often backed by relevant certifications or technical degrees. Proficiency with inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs), digital reporting systems, and supply chain management platforms is typically required. Strong attention to detail, integrity, and clear communication skills distinguish top performers in this field. These skills and qualities are essential to ensure compliance, maintain safety, and uphold quality in aerospace components, especially when working independently at supplier sites.

What are some typical challenges faced by Remote Aerospace Source Inspectors, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Aerospace Source Inspectors often encounter challenges such as coordinating with manufacturing teams across different time zones, ensuring compliance with strict aerospace standards, and adapting to varying quality control processes at supplier sites. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Establishing clear lines of communication with suppliers and leveraging digital inspection tools can help overcome these challenges and maintain consistent quality standards.

Job description

Independent Sourcing Partner (1099) — Remote

Augmentis | Boutique Executive Search & Talent Augmentation Houston, TX (Remote — Nationwide)

About Augmentis

Augmentis is the executive search and talent augmentation arm of The Work In Me, LLC, a Houston-based firm with 18+ years in the recruiting industry. We specialize in placing Accounting, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering professionals — primarily serving energy, manufacturing, aerospace, and PE-backed companies across the United States.

We're a boutique firm that values quality, precision, and long-term relationships. Our Sourcing Partners are the research engine behind our executive searches — identifying the right talent so our search consultants can focus on client development and closing.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Independent Sourcing Partners to join Augmentis as 1099 partners. This is a flexible, non-exclusive role — meaning you can source for other firms or maintain other work while partnering with us. If you have strong research skills, enjoy the hunt for talent, and want to earn a meaningful income without the pressure of a full-desk recruiting role, this is for you.

No recruiting experience required. If you're detail-oriented, resourceful, and enjoy finding people, we'll teach you the rest.

Know People in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering? Get Paid When They Get Hired.

We're looking for well-connected professionals to join us as Independent Sourcing Partners. This isn't a recruiting job — it's a referral partnership. You share our open roles within your network, point interested people our way, and earn a fee when they get placed. That's it.

No sourcing experience. No recruiting background. No cold calling. If you know people in the industries we serve, you're qualified.

What You'll Do

Share opportunities. We'll give you access to our active job openings. You share them within your professional network — LinkedIn, group chats, alumni circles, industry associations, word of mouth. However you naturally connect with people.

Point interested people our way. When someone in your network is interested, direct them to our careers page to apply and select your name as the referral source. Simple as that.

Forward responses. If someone reaches out to you directly with interest, forward their information to us. We handle everything from there — screening, interviews, client communication, and placement.

You won't conduct interviews, talk to clients, or manage any part of the hiring process. Augmentis handles all of that. Your value is your network.

Compensation

Direct-Hire Placements:
15% of the total placement fee collected by Augmentis for each successful hire originating from your referral.

Example: A candidate you referred gets hired at $100K base salary. Augmentis collects a $25K fee. You earn $3,750.

Temporary / Contract Placements:
$25/week per referred candidate actively on a client assignment, for up to 12 weeks per candidate.

Example: One candidate on a 12-week contract assignment = $300 in referral fees.

Payment Details:

  • Paid via ACH direct deposit, semi-monthly (1st and 15th)
  • Fees earned upon Augmentis' receipt of client payment
  • 12-month candidate ownership — if someone you referred gets placed within 12 months, you earn the fee, regardless of when the placement happens

Who This Is For

You don't need to be a recruiter. You need to know people.

This role is a fit if you're an accountant, finance professional, engineer, procurement manager, HR professional, project manager, operations leader, sales professional, or anyone else who is well-connected in the industries we serve. If your LinkedIn network, professional associations, alumni groups, or personal circle includes people who work in accounting, finance, supply chain, operations, or engineering — especially in energy, manufacturing, or aerospace — you can do this.

Also a fit for students, career changers, freelancers, or anyone looking for flexible supplemental income with zero overhead and no schedule requirements.

Why Augmentis?

Zero barrier to entry. No experience, no tools, no training required. Just your network and a willingness to share opportunities.

Completely flexible. Work on your own time, from anywhere. There's no schedule, no minimum hours, and no quotas.

Non-exclusive. This doesn't conflict with your full-time job or any other commitments.

You get paid when your referral gets hired. Simple, transparent compensation with 12-month ownership protection on every candidate you refer.

Optional team access. Weekly matching meetings and collaboration syncs are available if you want to stay connected to active searches and learn the business. Participation is optional and recordings are shared.

A growth path for those who want it. Some of our best recruiters started exactly where you are now. Our current Executive Search Consultant joined Augmentis as a Sourcing Partner and earned a full-desk recruiting role within weeks — building a real career in executive search. If you're curious about the recruiting industry and want to learn from a firm with 18+ years of experience, this is the lowest-risk way to find out if it's for you. Show up, produce, and the door is open.
