Manager, Quality

 

Job Summary:

Develops, administers and maintains a Quality Assurance Reporting System. Overall responsibility for industry certifications, internal/external audits. Coordinates/Assists functional owners’ development, update, implement, and support training on procedures, processes and other required activities related to Continuous Improvement (CI), Howell Instruments training program and Performance Metric Capture (PMC).  Ensures that company products support documentation is in compliance with quality requirements and standards. Quickly and effectively solve systemic issues as they arise.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Overall responsibility for the quality metric performance reporting of Howell Instruments.
  1. Brief Top Management on Quality performance metrics, CAPA and Process Improvement Initiatives
  1. Liaise with functional department personnel on measurement and analysis of quality performance trends
  1. Has a fundamental understanding of quality standards, procedures, processes, and the application of each in an aviation manufacturing area.
  1. Establish and maintain a working relationship with customers, government agencies, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  1. Manage internal/external audit program and provides corrective action to customers and government representatives as necessary.
  1. Manages approved supplier database and performs audits as required.
  1. Must be able to obtain approval as a Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR) from the FAA.
  1. Overall responsibility for AS9100/AS9110 certification Program.
  1. Overall responsibility for maintaining Howell Instruments Training Program.
  1. Performs various other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

·         Associates degree or equivalent experience in the Quality Assurance field preferred.

·         Minimum ten years’ experience with evidence of increasing responsibility in Quality Assurance field.  Must be computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office products. Minimum five years’ experience working with and/or managing an AS9100 Quality System.  Knowledge of FAA Part 21 and 43, and 145 Requirements.

·         Must work well with all levels of management, customers, suppliers and FAA. Must possess excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills. Accomplished leader and decision maker. Ability to accept feedback, actively listen and work well under pressure.
