Job description

POSITION TITLE: Quality Manager

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Plant Manager-Primary Line

Director of Corporate Quality-Dotted Line

PAY STRUCTURE: Salary

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: Translate customer expectations to the manufacturing facility, represent the company in contact with the customer, oversee quality launch functions and maintain the Quality System.


BACKGROUND PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Field
  • Automotive experience, preferably with Toyota, Honda
  • Control Plan, Process Flow, FMEA
  • Quality System Experience
  • Quality System Auditing
  • Sample Submission process and components: SQAM for Toyota


SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Customer product launch requirements
  • Customer Quality System requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team building, Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5-why, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Customer Relations
  • Computer Literate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Leadership for quality improvement activities in the facility.
  • Conduct customer visits and interface with customers in both formal and informal settings.
  • Oversee Quality launch activities for new programs per customer requirements and coordinate the resolution of customer concerns.
  • Oversee the Quality auditing and inspection process of the production floor and incoming inspection, including the training and supervision of Quality Auditors.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and supervises the day-to-day activities of the quality function on the plant floor and resolves production quality concerns.
  • Management Representative for the facility Quality Management and overseeing Plant measureables, trends, Quality System effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and training of policies and procedures related to Quality Management Systems.
  • Track and manage supplier performance
  • Oversee the internal audit system to ensure that Quality Management Systems compliance is evident.
  • Participate in external Quality Management Systems audits and subsequent surveillance audits
  • Coordinate the Corrective and Preventative Actions program.
  • Responsible for communicating in all aspects of customer requirements and concerns and acting as the facility customer representative.
  • Fully participate in and support Corvac’s Environmental Management Systems.
  • Fully participate in and support Corvac’s Quality Management System.
  • Fully participate in and support Corvac's Safety Policy
