Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

The experienced Quality Engineer leads advanced quality initiatives across all manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest level of product quality. This role manages complex quality projects, performs in-depth root cause analysis, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to address quality challenges and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. The experienced Quality Engineer also plays a key role in shaping and maintaining robust quality management systems and standards throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced quality engineering initiatives to ensure consistent product quality across all manufacturing processes.
  • Manage complex quality projects from concept through completion, ensuring deliverables meet quality and compliance requirements.
  • Perform thorough root cause analysis on quality issues and develop robust corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and operations to resolve quality challenges and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality inspection plans at all stages of the manufacturing process, including incoming materials, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA and 8D to identify risks, prevent defects, and enhance process reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize processes and reduce variation.
  • Support and conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific quality standards.
  • Interpret and analyze complex quality data using statistical tools to drive data-based decisions and improvement actions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards such as ISO 9001, and contribute to their ongoing enhancement.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and quality team members, fostering a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Prepare clear documentation, reports, and presentations on quality performance, findings, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Engage with internal teams and customers to address quality concerns, communicate findings, and align on corrective actions and expectations.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Previous experience in metal working environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), quality control processes, and industry standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action processes (CAPA).
  • Advanced problem-solving skills using methods such as FMEA and 8D.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $92000.00 - $98000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
