Overview

Hourly rate: $55-65 per hour + Per Diemย 

The QA/QC Inspector at MasTec Power Delivery is responsible for ensuring that construction activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, and quality requirements. This role supports projects within power generation facilities (e.g., power plants, substations, renewable energy facilities) and commercial building construction, working closely with project management, engineering, contractors, and clients to maintain high-quality execution throughout all phases of construction.


Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and MasTec Power Delivery QA/QC requirements.
  • Conduct inspections for materials, workmanship, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality documentation.
  • Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and verify corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, daily logs, and quality records.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and site supervisors to resolve quality issues.
  • Witness and document testing activities (e.g., concrete testing, weld inspections, electrical/mechanical testing).
  • Ensure proper material handling, storage, and traceability.
  • Support audits, punch lists, and final inspections prior to project handover.
  • Promote adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3โ€“7 years of QA/QC inspection experience in power generation and/or commercial building construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, AWS, NEC, ASME, ISO).
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, submittals, and inspection records.

Certifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • NACE / AMPP Coating Inspector
