Quality Control Specialist - Fashion

About Gina Group:

Categories include footwear, hosiery, cold weather, intimate apparel, handbags, small leather goods, tech accessories, home goods, and more across a multitude of national brands. Gina has been supplying retail markets with kids, juniors, misses, and men’s products for over 35 years and continues to keep pace with the ever-changing retail landscape.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with design to ensure TOP sample matches approved PP sample. Inspect weight, color, print and material execution etc. with the support of design. Ensure that all products are produced to the same size and standard as approved PP.
  • Confirm the vendor has made the product correctly. Accept or reject finished sample items. Follow up on rejected samples for revisions needed from vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot any product or packaging issues.
  • Review packaging artwork. Initial artwork to be reviewed by email followed by actual labels. Ensure color execution matches pantone, legal information is accurate, paper quality is correct, retails and contents are accurate, bar code scans with proper grade etc.
  • Confirm packaging is properly secure to the product to avoid any issues at retail.
  • Communicate with sales and customers on customer specific TOPs. Review customer vendor guides to ensure customer TOP is compliant and samples are sent following the customer’s protocol. Work within customer portals as needed.
  • Create and maintain a sample requirement library for each customer.
  • Record tracking information of any TOPs shared with customers and ensure the TOP is received by the customer. Follow up as needed for customer comments and share comments with vendors.
  • Utilize a product milestone report. Monitor packaging and samples that are due to be received. Follow up with vendors to ensure packaging and samples are being sent on time. Record when packaging and samples are received, and when comments have been made.
  • Help ensure on time deliveries. Share details with production when delivery is in jeopardy.
  • Organize all paperwork, labels and samples for future reference in an efficient manner.
  • Monitor all emails internally and externally to ensure efficient communication.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have superior organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using a pantone book.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a collaborative environment.

NY Pay Transparency:

The pay range for this position is ($50,000 - $55,000) annually based on skills and experience.
