Quality Control Technician duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate in compliance with all safety requirements of the facility.
  • Perform routine inspection and analysis on incoming raw materials, in process samples and finished products according to approved procedures.
  • Record QC inspection results and write QC reports.
  • Maintain data integrity and quality records as to the status of inspected parts.
  • Prepare and submit test samples as needed. Document and retain test results as required.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and specifications.ย 
  • Assist in qualification, maintenance, and calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support Quality functions dealing with system performance such as:ย 
  • Preventive and Corrective Actions, Non-Conforming Materials, and Discrepant Materials Reports.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Help prepare Quality Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participate in training activities.

Requirements

Quality Control Technician requirements:

Good eyesight and good eye/hand coordination.

Ability to respect all safety requirements to ensure yours and your colleagues' safety.

Able to operate department specific equipment necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Able to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, labels, instructions, specifications, and reference materials.

Ability to skillfully use a caliper, micrometer, tape rule and other instruments.

Ability to use hand and power tools.

Ability to problem solve by looking beyond obvious solution to a problem and endeavor to find the best solution.

Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Basic computer skillsย 

  • With ERP system and other internally developed software.
  • With Microsoft pack: Word, Excel (spreadsheet).

Effective communication skills - written and oral.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Background in an industrial environment

Experience in Chemical or Plastics Quality Assurance Laboratory Inspection or Testing PREFERRED
